|"Out of recollected places,
With remembered forms and faces,
Dreams, love's ardent hands have woven
In my life's dark tapestry,
Beckoning, soft and shadowy
To the soul..."
Madison J. Cawein, 1896
|This painting is the first of the Cameron Court series.
The title of this work suggest many questions. Is Cameron Court haunted by this dark angel like someone
from a Wilkie Collins novel? Or is it a place that she lingers remembering some lost moment and the
darkness of her wings are part of the darkness of her memories?
